POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Assistant Supervisor, supervises, directs, and as necessary, participates in departmental (Processing and Packaging areas) work activities to produce the desired quality of finished product at the most favorable cost.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently strives to meet established quality standards.
  • Works to ensure that production meets production standards on a daily basis.
  • Schedule production personnel
  • Provides direction and training to assigned employees to ensure that they are fully trained for their jobs.
  • Effectively solves problems on the line to minimize downtime and expedite the work.
  • Brings employee issues to the attention of the Superintendent.
  • Request resources such as quality assurance, maintenance and quality control for problem solving and keeping Superintendent informed.
  • Enforces compliance with all safety rules and regulations taking prompt action concerning any potential safety hazards.
  • Make recommendations on process or quality improvements.
  • Moves through the entire facility in a proactive, helpful manner to ensure processes are aligned and functioning at expected levels.
  • Provides on time, reliable data to Superintendent on quality, downtime, rework, and equipment problems.
  • Ensures that there is a smooth transition from shift to shift.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving employees in Kronos time tracking systems.
  • Responsible for adhering to all quality system requirements.
  • Follows plant rules and complies with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations relating to food plant sanitation and the environment.
  • Responsible to meet quality, customer and religious requirements for this position.
  • Maintains accurate records of employee performance and completes annual PFP reviews
  • Responsible for implementing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Must be flexible with work schedule, work overtime and weekends as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year degree or equivalent work experience in a high speed manufacturing environment, preferably consumer packaged goods
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years experience supervisory experience in a fast-paced consumer packaged goods environment
  • Computer skills
