To keep plant production at a desired level through a program of preventative maintenance for machinery, equipment, buildings, and to make repairs on machines and processes as necessary, to include machinery modifications as directed.

A Day in the Life | Responsibilities We Trust You With:

  • Responsible for trouble shooting and making repairs to plant machinery and equipment promptly when breakdown occurs
  • Performs preventative maintenance and maintain all packaging and other manufacturing equipment on all machines
  • Ensure that buildings and grounds are maintained
  • Keep shop, boiler room, compressor rooms and work area clean and safe
  • Record keeping
  • Recognizes the vital importance of the customer.
  • Deliver high quality service at all times
  • Follow all plant and safety rules: lockout/tag out, confined space, etc
  • Responsible to meet all food safety, quality and customer requirements for this position

What You Must Know | Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Continuing education in mechanical field is preferred

What You Need to Be Good At | Competencies and Skills:

  • Comprehensive troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates flexibility to handle multiple demands
  • Mechanically inclined
    • Installation of motors and pumps
    • Welding stainless steel
    • Electrical troubleshooting
    • Pneumatics
  • Strong communication skills
  • General knowledge of single and three phase electrical troubleshooting
  • Basic understanding of the functionality of PLCs, adjustable frequency controllers, and temperature and pressure controllers

Your Work Environment | Working Conditions and Safety Considerations:

  • Work is performed mainly in the plant and at times in the office
  • May be exposed to loud noises, required to wear hearing protection
  • May be exposed to hot, wet, or cool conditions
  • The physical abilities include standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting crawling, and climbing
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule and work weekends and holidays at times
